School terms and holidays iCalendar

Primary and secondary school term and holiday information is now available as an iCalendar feed.

Ministry of Education iCalendar feeds

We have two iCalendar feeds available:

To access more iCalendar feeds from other government agencies or to learn more about how to use iCalendar feeds, visit the government eLabs website.

What is iCalendar?

iCalendar is a standard format for calendar data exchange that enables publishing of calendars or schedules on the web. These can then be viewed on ’subscription’ by a compatible calendaring programme such as Microsoft Outlook.

Other common calendaring programmes that support iCalendar include Mozilla Sunbird and Lightning (open source), Apple iCal and Google Calendar.

What are the benefits?

The main benefit of an iCalendar subscription is that it functions as a data feed, similar to RSS, and your email programme will periodically download the iCalendar data file to receive new and updated events.

By subscribing to our School terms and holidays iCalendar feed, you can ensure you have the most up-to-date information, which in turn can be overlaid against your own personal calendar.
