Financial Information for Schools Handbook

The purpose of this guide is to provide a single reference point for school trustees, principals and administrators which is an easily accessible guide to financial management best practice in schools.

The guide is divided into two parts. Part I covers financial management issues in general. Part II contains more technical information, and is intended for people who provide financial services to schools.

There have been changes to the technical section for 2007 because of the introduction of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). These have been identified as [NEW FOR 2007]. Guidance information has also been posted as a series of separate documents with the Model Financial Accounts Model Financial Accounts (Kiwi Park School) - Ministry of Education.

The FISH documents will not be reprinted while IFRS information is being updated.
