ICT Strategic Framework for Education

The ICT Strategic Framework for Education was released for consultation in December 2006 across the whole education sector. Feedback was sought to establish what the priorities and needs are for education organisations in relation to ICT. The feedback will inform the next iteration of the Framework. A summary of the feedback received can be downloaded from the link below.

In late 2006 the ICT Strategic Framework for Education (the Framework) was published. This outlined a shared vision for the education sector's future investment in and use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Through a consultation process, the Education Sector ICT Standing Committee sought feedback on the Framework from stakeholders throughout the sector.

The Feedback

Generally the Framework and its goals were supported in the feedback.

The feedback also suggested new goals, including:

  • Equity of access for all institutions.
  • Development of minimum standards of technology and equipment.
  • Professional development and technical support for teachers.
  • Strengthening support for research.

Submissions focussed on:

  • building ICT capability across the sector,
  • enhanced alignment with wider education strategy and policy, and
  • demonstrating the financial benefits of collaboration to organisations, and
  • monitoring progress through, specific, easily measured target descriptions.

This information is available in the ICT Strategic Framework for Education Feedback Summary which can be downloaded below.
