Review of industry training

The Ministry is currently undertaking a review of industry training. This page provides links to relevant pages and a brief update on progress of the review.

Feedback on the discussion document on the roles within the industry training system closed on Monday, 19 December. The Ministry has received submissions on this document from 75 organisations. A further 15 submissions are expected from organisations that have asked for an extension. The Ministry will be analysing the feedback in January 2012.

The online employer survey closed on Friday, 16 December. In total, 962 individuals responded to the survey. 79% (756) of respondents are covered by an industry training organisation. The Ministry has also completed 18 in-depth interviews with employers across a range of industries. We would like to thank all those who responded to the survey and the employers who agreed to meet with us.

The Ministry will combine the results of the survey with the themes from the in-depth employer interviews. We aim to publish this in early 2012.
