Review of Operation of the Tertiary Education Institutions at Risk Legislation
The review of the operation of the tertiary education institutions at risk legislation is complete, and has been tabled in the House of Representatives. The Secretary for Education published revised risk assessment criteria in the New Zealand Gazette on 28 February 2008.
The reviews of the tertiary education institutions at risk legislation (sections 195A - F of the Education Act 1989) and the gazetted criteria for at-risk tertiary institutions (under section 195A), have been completed in accordance with the requirements under sections 195A and 195G, following consultation with tertiary education institutions and relevant sector peak bodies from April to June 2007.
The review report on the tertiary education institutions at risk legislation was tabled in the House of Representatives by the Minister for Tertiary Education in September 2007.
The Secretary for Education published the final revised risk assessment criteria in the New Zealand Gazette, under section 195A of the Education Act 1989, on 28 February 2008.
