Directly Resourced (DR) funding rates for 2009/10

This page provides information about the new funding rates for DR school transport for 2009/10.

Directly Resourced (DR) funding rates

In December 2007, Cabinet approved the introduction of a revised funding formula for DR school transport assistance. The revised funding formula was introduced in 2008 and has been applied for the annual adjustment for funding rates for 2009/10.

To ensure that the funding allocated for DR bus routes remains in line with funding for centrally resourced bus routes, the revised funding formula is adjusted annually using the required regression calculation.

The DR funding formula is calculated as follows:

  • Daily funding = base rate + (daily kilometres x per kilometre rate).
  • Annual funding = daily funding x the number of days the route runs.
  • Quarterly funding = annual funding ÷ 4 + quarterly administration fee + GST.

Based on regression analysis the DR funding rates for 2009/10 are:

  • Base rate $52.23
  • Kilometre rate $2.65
