Communicating on school transport with caregivers

This page contains suggested newsletter items for schools to use when communicating with caregivers about the Ministry's school transport policies.

Schools play a valuable part in communicating the Ministry's school transport policy to caregivers.

The Ministry wants to ensure that its policies are well understood by schools and caregivers alike. As a result, a series of regular communications on school transport are being included in the Principal and Board Alert sections of the Education Gazette. The communications are brief and deal with a different aspect of school transport in each issue.

To make it easy for schools to pass these communications on to their communities, the Ministry will also be providing draft items on the topics covered in Principal or Board Alert for schools to place in their newsletters. These items are available for download below and will be updated as new editions of Principal or Board Alert are published.

More in-depth information about school transport policy in general, including the subjects covered in the items below, is available from the school transport factsheets page.
