Vandalism top up Calculator

Calculates the level of funding a school may be eligible for if a board requires additional property funding to cover significant vandalism costs.

This template works out how much the board is entitled to claim reimbursement for. If a school exceeds the upper limit per pupil of its vandalism rate in any one year, the board can claim reimbursement of costs over this amount.

The Ministry will meet the cost of a particular vandalism event if either:

  1. the cost of that one event is above the school's annual upper limit, or
  2. the cost, combined with expenses the board has already had to pay during the year for vandalism, will put it over the upper limit per pupil.

While the Ministry will meet the costs of the vandalism event (or combined events) that exceed the upper limit, the board will still have to meet the costs up to the school's annual limit.

Refer to section 3.15 of the Property Management Handbook [PDF v1.6; 1.28mb] for further detail on this policy.
