School property guide calculator
Calculates a school's entitlement to teaching and other area from the number of students at each year level.
The calculator below determines the total net and gross area the school is entitled to given their roll. The calculator also provides an area break-down for specific parts of the school (eg administration) but these are not an explicit entitlement. The total area should be viewed as an envelope of property within which the school can decide the appropriate mix of area types.
State Schools Calculator
Calculates entitlement to property by entering a school's roll and its Ministry profile number. Classroom and gym area deficiencies are addressed via funding for new teaching spaces to meet roll growth. Deficiencies in other areas are addressed via the annual School Property Guide (SPG) Deficiencies Programme.
Integrated Schools Calculator
Calculates entitlement to property by entering a school's roll and its ministry profile number. This calculation gives the total area that can be integrated and should be used when schools apply to integrate more buildings. The maximum roll for integration is the agreed maximum Resourcing roll; the template pro-rates the roll entered up to the maximum roll.
ORRS Entitlement Calculator
Calculates the separate teaching space and area entitlements generated by a school's regular roll and ORRS roll. This details exactly how much property is generated by a school's ORRS roll, and may help determine how much area is dedicated to a special needs unit.
