Helping your Children Learn at Home and at School - information booklets for communities and parents of children from migrant or refugee backgrounds.

The booklets are available in 14 community languages:

A reference English version is also available for schools, to assist educators using the content.

The 48-page booklet is packed full of useful tips and information on early childhood, primary and secondary school education in New Zealand.

Schools should:

  • use the material as a resource in parent teacher meetings or home school partnership workshops. (You can download only the pages of relevance for a particular meeting)
  • reference the resource in newsletters and encourage parents to visit the website link below
