A decision will be made regarding the future of Projectors in Classrooms by the beginning of term two 2012.

Background

The Ministry of Education has received recommendations from schools involved in TELA - Laptops for Teachers Project that the Ministry facilitate the supply of good quality data projectors for purchase or lease by schools. An interim research finding and recommendation from Waikato University - who have been contracted from the beginning of the Secondary laptop roll-out has indicated that data projectors increase the laptops' effectiveness as a teaching tool.

As the result of this feedback The Ministry of Education has negotiated significant reductions with manufacturers on a number of high quality data and video projectors. The projectors have been tested and evaluated independently and chosen specifically for school use.

The Ministry accepts no liability or responsibility for the quality of performance of the projectors however the machines are fully warranted by the manufacturers for 3 years.
