The E-learning Action Plan
Strategy overview - e-Learning action plan for schools 2006-2010
The e-Learning action plan Enabling the 21st Century Learner was developed to outline the key outcomes and actions for e-Learning in the New Zealand schools sector for 2006-2010. The action plan outlines goals and a direction for e-learning in schools and how it directly contributes to the outcomes of the schooling strategy. The action plan also identifies how school-focused initiatives fit in with and support the wider range of digital and Information Communication Technology (ICT) strategies being co-ordinated and supported by the Government.
This e-Learning action plan builds on the previous two ICT strategies for schools - Interactive Education (Ministry of Education, 1998) and Digital Horizons (Ministry of Education, 2002) which contribute to the Government's overarching goal to build an education system that equips New Zealanders with 21st Century skills through the increased use of e-Learning in schools. A DVD has been developed to support the e-Learning action plan and a copy can be requested by e-mailing jane.nettles@minedu.govt.nz or a streamed version of the DVD is available at the following web links:
