Social events
Delegates and guests are kindly invited to attend the following social events.
- Welcome / Pōwhiri - 9:00am Saturday 21 March at Te Papa
A Pōwhiri is a Māori welcoming ceremony involving speeches, singing and a hongi (traditional Māori greeting). The Pōwhiri will be performed to welcome plenary and working groups to the magnificent Marae at Te Papa. This will be followed by morning tea and some free time for delegates to tour the museum.
- Conference Dinner - 7:00pm Tuesday 24 March
Delegates are invited to join representatives from the Ministry of Education and Standards New Zealand at dinner at a local seafood restaurant on the Wellington waterfront.
Accommodation
Special arrangements have been made with a variety of hotels in the Wellington area. Please refer to Annex 2 for details of the accommodation package.
Facilities
The conference centre is equipped with the following:
- Wireless internet access, presentation equipment, screen, data projector, power points, microphones for final day.
Please note:
- Additional equipment can be arranged at your request
- Translation services will not be available
- Morning tea and afternoon tea will be provided each day.
