ESOL resources presentation

Schools most effectively address the learning needs of English language learners (ELLs) from diverse backgrounds when they:

  • identify ELLs and apply for ESOL funding
  • set up appropriate programmes and monitor progress
  • support diversity and encourage the use of first languages
  • undertake relevant professional development
  • develop and maintain links with families and communities.

This presentation details the range of Ministry of Education resources available to assist schools to provide this multi-layered support for ELLs.

Most of these resources can be ordered from 'Down the Back of the Chair' phone 0800 660 662 www.thechair.minedu.govt.nz

There are two versions of the Powerpoint presentation

  • a lower resolution version for viewing online, available below
  • a higher resolution version available from ESOL Online.
