The New Zealand Curriculum
The New Zealand Curriculum was launched on Tuesday 6 November 2007. The revised curriculum is the result of one of the most extensive consultation exercises ever undertaken by the Ministry of Education, and sets the direction for teaching and learning in the 21st century. The New Zealand Curriculum was launched at Hutt Valley High School on Tuesday 6 November 2007. The launch was a culmination of the work of many thousands of teachers, students, parents and other groups in reviewing the previous curriculum and developing it in line with the needs of learners in the 21st century.
The New Zealand Curriculum will be progressively implemented until February 2010 when it will be come mandatory and replace current curriculum documents. It can be accessed at this address.
