This section particularly focuses on the impact of universities in constraining the flexibility offered by the new qualification through restrictive entry criteria.
The Vice Chancellors Committee is represented on the Leaders Forum, in part to ensure that the qualification meets their needs, but also to ensure that the wider policy intent is understood by the universities, to mediate the possibility of such constraint. A discussion paper is currently under public consideration with respect to the NCEA as the criteria for entry to university. Further arrangements are being discussed regarding its use for selection into restricted programmes.
