Following the recent instances of avian influenza A (H7N9) occurring in eastern China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has updated its Safetravel website to include avian influenza information and advice to New Zealanders travelling. For those planning overseas travel, useful information including countries affected by avian influenza, staying safe and being prepared can be found at http://www.safetravel.govt.nz
The Ministry of Health has also updated influenza information contained on its website. Further information regarding avian influenza can be found at http://www.health.govt.nz/avian-influenza.
