Teacher recruitment
There are a number of ways that the Ministry of Education supports schools to recruit staff.
Ways in which boards can seek assistance with recruitment issues include:
- Recruiting teachers from overseas - TeachNZ has included specific information on employing overseas teachers in its publication The Principal's Guide to Teacher Recruitment available from TeachNZ.
- Contacting NZSTA for emergency staffing information.
- Other information about teacher recruitment initiatives such as the Returning to Teaching Allowance (secondary positions only) can be found in Chapter Four of the Funding, Staffing and Allowances Handbook.
